Coalition seeks engagement through new website

The Nurses on Boards Coalition aims to improve the health of communities and the nation through the service of nurses on 10,000 corporate and non-profit health-related boards of directors by 2020. The American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Foundation and the American Academy of Nursing are all founding members of the coalition, along with 19 other national organizations.

As the NOBC celebrates its one-year anniversary, it has launched a new website: NursesOnBoardsCoalition.org. NOBC is seeking to collect information online about nurses currently serving on boards. The data will help measure progress to achieve 10,000 nurses on boards by 2020.

The coalition is encouraging all RNs to promote the NOBC website through all communication channels, including email, print and electronic newsletters, and social media.

The campaign has provided the following social media posts for RNs who are active on Twitter and Facebook, which may be adapted:

• Be counted! 10,000 nurses on boards by 2020. Visit NursesOnBoardsCoalition.org #10knurses #NursesOnBoards

• Attention all nurses: If you serve or want to serve on a board, be counted at NursesOnBoardsCoalition.org. Together, we can advance health #10knurses.
