Work-life balance

More Magazine featured a look at careers that provide a level of flexibility in its November issue, and nursing hit near the top of the list. The article analyzed a variety of factors, including salary, flexibility, security and advancement opportunities and nursing ranked fifth among included professions. In an interview for the piece, American Nurses Association Director of Nursing Practice and Policy Cheryl Peterson, MSN, RN, stressed the benefits of nursing in terms of career paths, schedules and location, and noted that, “Employers have to respond because there is such a need [for nurses].”
